DESCRIPTION:The Office of Sustainability and Rice Creek Field Station will 
 be co-presenting this webinar highlighting the newly re-established Centen
 nial Arboretum at SUNY Oswego as well as other campus tree projects.\n\n \
 n\nTalk Description:\n\nThe 1961 Centennial Arboretum was gifted to the SU
 NY Oswego campus through donations made by community members and businesse
 s to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the institution’s founding. As
  the campus expanded\, the Arboretum was no longer centrally located\, lea
 ving it forgotten. In 2021\, efforts to revive the arboretum resulted in a
 n addition of 21 new and diverse tree species\, planted by community membe
 rs\, student volunteers\, and campus staff. The future of the Centennial A
 rboretum includes expansion to support both the ecological and educational
  connections between the campus community and the land in which we reside.
  This webinar will also include updates about other campus tree projects\,
  including success stats from the CFRP 2021 tree giveaways. \n \n\nThis we
 binar is offered as part of the Arbor Day Webinar Series hosted annually b
 y the Canal Forest Restoration Project team at SUNY Oswego's Rice Creek Fi
