About this Event
Alesha M. Hall is an artist who lives and works in Fairfield, Iowa. A native of Western York and graduate of SUNY Oswego, her work pays homage to the countryside of her childhood. She is continuously exploring new mediums, pushing the limits of materials and possibilities.
In 2015, she began experimenting with stained glass. Using her skills as an illustrator and graphic designer she began making designs for glass in a material is not very forgiving. Not one to back down from a challenge, Hall developed her craft in glass at a third generation stained glass studio in Rochester for several years. The experience of working with and understanding the properties of this functional architectural art form, laid the groundwork for what she is creating now.
Hall’s glass art is characterized by organic shapes, a plethora of color, tactile surfaces and, in some cases, humor. Inspired by nature and the human experience each piece of work showcases an event, memory or feeling.
Looking forward to the next challenge, she is beginning work on an interactive kinetic sculpture with metal and glass.
