Lee Hickey discusses her latest book, "Girl in the Glass Coffin: the Tonkin Affair," based on a local legend.

Lee will be presenting the incredible true story of ten-year-old Virginia Tonkin, whose tragic death sparked a legend that has been passed down for generations. Her family made history when they displayed her body in their home in a sealed glass coffin for well over a year. For the first time in history, the Tonkin family's true story is being told in its fascinating entirety. Attendees can step back in time to the Gilded Age of Oswego and witness the spiraling events that are forever woven into the fabric of the unique city. Romance, intrigue, scandal, tragedy, betrayal, mystery and even murder make up the truth story that is even more unbelievable than the legend.

The opulence of their home and comfort of their luxurious lifestyles were overshadowed by the dark incidents that plagued them during the time they lived in the house that is known by local legend as the "Tonkin Mansion." A handsome millionaire playboy stains his family's name and a real cold case is potentially solved using historical evidence to come to a plausible conclusion. Vicious rumors are put to rest and the dark truth is brought to life in this captivating historical thriller. Organizers tell readers to prepare to be enthralled as they uncover long-forgotten secrets that deserve to be told.
