About this Event
Lace-up those sneakers, grease those gears, get those smartphone ticketing apps out, unplug the electric vehicle, or dust off the car cushions for a friend because Get There Green! is coming up!
Get There Green! is a week to promote and celebrate more sustainable modes of transportation. This year it is taking place during Climate Week NYC. During this week everyone is encouraged to join in a week of climate action by using a more sustainable mode of transportation for as many trips as they can. These include but are not limited to, Walking, Biking, Taking Transit, Carpooling, Driving an Electric Vehicle; or Any Other Mode of Transportation That is Not Driving Alone in a Fossil Fuel Powered Vehicle (kayaking anyone).
This year marks the return of the green transportation agency challenge! We’ll be competing against other agencies to see which one can have the highest percentage of employees participating in Get There Green!
You can register your green trip on the registration form. It only takes a minute!

Reasons to Get There Green
Transportation represents the second largest source of New York State's greenhouse gas emissions and the largest part of most New Yorker's personal carbon footprint as well. Therefore, it is critically important that we all lower our emissions from transportation in order to meet our nation-leading economy-wide greenhouse gas emission reduction goals of 40% of 1990 emission levels by 2030, 85% by 2050, and ultimately net-zero.
