DESCRIPTION:The CIE Diversity\, Equity\, and Inclusion Committee invites yo
 u to Gilman Scholarship: Going Beyond and Supporting the Student Applicatio
 n Process. The session will explore how best to support students applying f
 or the Gilman Scholarship\, and will cover the application process\, common
  student challenges\, the selection panel\, recent Gilman updates and stude
 nt experiences.\n\n \n\nThe session is for Professional Staff and Faculty O
 NLY and will feature the following speakers:\n \n\nLyn Blanchfield\, Ph.D.\
 nDr. Lyn Blanchfield has a Ph.D. in medieval history\, received a Fulbright
  Grant to conduct her dissertation research in Italy\, and has been a facul
 ty member in history at SUNY Oswego since 2010. She is a Fulbright Program 
 Advisor for the U.S. Student Fulbright Program and is an advisor for the Gi
 lman and Boren Scholarship Programs. \n\nTaylor Ikemiya\nTaylor Ikemiya (sh
 e/her) is a Study Abroad Advisor at SUNY New Paltz. Ikemiya advises for a p
 ortfolio of study abroad programs\, works with the EOP Office and EOP stude
 nts on study abroad efforts\, manages the office’s Instagram account and ov
 ersees the Gilman Scholarship Program advising and application process at t
 he university. \n\nMargaret Hartofilis\nMargaret Hartofilis (she/her) is an
  International Programs Coordinator at SUNY Stony Brook University. She ove
 rsees faculty-led and partner university programs in Europe. Hartofilis ser
 ved on the Gilman selection panel during the March 2024 cycle. She attended
  the University of Maryland Gilman Workshop to learn best practices for sup
 porting Gilman applicants\, recipients\, and alumni on campus.
