The Grief and Loss support group is a counselor-facilitated peer support group for students affected by the death of a loved one. The group is a nurturing place to learn and share the grief process. Many clients take away not only learning from psychoeduation but empowerment from being supported by peers and supporting others, organizers said. Connections are built through shared experience of the grief process. Counselor-led activities supplement this process. Clients can participate based on their needs, from listening to other group members, engaging in the activity, to sharing their own experiences.
