The history, culture and mathematics of African hair braiding will be discussed at this in-person and live-streamed event. Concepts such as parallel lines, symmetry and tessellations will be examined followed by a live braiding demonstration.
This workshop is part of the STEM Success @ SUNY Oswego Microcredentialing Series. Students who complete 3 out of 5 sessions receive a Certificate of Completion and special t-shirt. The first session, STEM Success @ SUNY Oswego, is required of all students completing the Microcredentialing Series.
