Join us at the Oswego Public Library to hear from local authors Laura Donnelly and Linda Loomis. Both authors will read from their work, discuss their writing, and engage with the community in a Q&A session. Linda Loomis’ writing explores memories of growing up in Oswego, while Laura Donnelly’s poetry explores her family history in Northern Michigan. Both Loomis and Donnelly give voice to the daily connections people forge as they write about past and present.

Linda Loomis has taught journalism and creative writing at SUNY Oswego, where she was a tenured professor and director of the journalism program. Prior to teaching, she had been an editor and reporter for the Brown Newspapers (The Liverpool Review) and editor of the OSWEGO Alumni Magazine. Her byline now appears on articles about music and the arts at Syracuse.com/The Post-Standard.

Laura Donnelly teaches poetry and serves as chair of the English and Creative Writing Department at SUNY Oswego. She is the author of two collections of poetry, Midwest Gothic and Watershed. She regularly reviews books for the environmental literary magazine Terrain, and she recently co-produced a documentary on Sterling Nature Center.
