https://www.oswego.edu/rice-creek/about-rice-creek/rice-creek-associates #ricecreekThis class is designed for individuals that have never painted, done a little, or done some but could use some guidance. The overall theme of the class is to have fun and be creative. Watercolor paints, brushes, related resources, and techniques will help you create a unique painting. Techniques in this class will include instruction on basic layering techniques, masking, composition, and background washes. The use of vignette will be shared but is optional for this painting. The color wheel will be demonstrated to help in your selection to create a harmonious color scheme.
Through demonstrations and individual, hands-on help, you will learn some basic watercolor techniques. The class will work on a 6 x 9 or 5 x 7 Arches watercolor paper. You will be guided through the steps to complete the finished painting.
Fees must be paid in advance, cash or by check only. You may mail a check or visit the Rice Creek Field Station and place an envelope with your name and fee in the metal lock box. Summer hours are M-F 8:00-4:30, and Saturday 9:00-3:00.
Instructor: Robert A. Jones is a retired technology education teacher from the Hannibal School District. He began watercolor painting after retirement and has been teaching watercolor painting for several years. This is his seventh year painting, and his artwork continues to evolve through experimentation, studies, and practice. This event is hosted by Rice Creek Associates.
