All SUNY Oswego students are invited to fill out this form and participate in the weekend-long workshop with the award-winning Tectonic Theater Project. This special training session and resume-building opportunity is sponsored by Artswego and SUNY Oswego Theatre. Especially note that this workshop is not only for actors. It is for anyone interested in exploring narrative structure, dramaturgy, theatrical design, visual storytelling, dance, and musical theatre.

If you sign up to participate in the workshop, you will be training with guest artists from Tectonic Theater Project on:

Friday 8/30 from 7pm - 10pm

Saturday 8/31 from 12pm - 6pm (snacks provided)

Sunday 9/1 from 10am - 4pm (lunch provided)

On Sunday 9/1 @ 2 pm there will be a public performance of the work devised in the Training Session. The showing @ 2 pm in the Lab Theater will be open to any member of the Oswego community.

By signing up it means that you'll commit to attending all three days of the workshop. Please make sure you are aware of the full commitment before signing up.

In the workshop, the guest artists will introduce Tectonic's "Moment Work" devising method and allow students to create work of their own, building an ensemble for the weekend, and foster everyone's storytelling techniques. The "Moment Work" method was integral to the company's most famous and acclaimed productions including "The Laramie Project Cycle," "Gross Indecency: The Three Trials of Oscar Wilde," "Uncommon Sense" and most recently, the 2024 Pulitzer Play finalist "Here There Are Blueberries." Outside of this opportunity here at SUNY Oswego, a training session like this would cost you hundreds of dollars, but this is offered to students for free thanks to ARTSwego and the SUNY Oswego Theatre Dept.

The cap for the workshop is 50 students so there is plenty of room, but sign ups are first-come, first-served. All sign ups through this form are due by Wed. 8/28 @ 11:59pm.  After you fill out this form, you will be notified of your acceptance to the training session by Thursday, 8/29 at 9am.
