Rice Creek's Canal Forest Restoration Project is hosting a free bare-root tree seedling giveaway this October! Seedlings are approximately 8-12" tall.

Giveaways will be Friday, Oct 27 from 4:30–7 pm, and Saturday, Oct 28 from 10 am – 1 pm (while supplies last).

Individuals can take home as many trees as they can plant. Species include white oak (Quercus alba), swamp white oak (Q. bicolor), and tupelo (Nyssa sylvatica). Some white pine (Pinus strobus) may also be available. These lovely native trees thrive in a variety of conditions and provide many benefits to wildlife and people.

About the Canal Forest Restoration Project

The Canal Forest Restoration Project (CFRP) is on a mission to restore the presence of white oak and white pine trees in New York State’s Canal Regions -- for wildlife, our climate, and people. Learn more on our website.
