Figuratively Speaking follows the tradition of exploring the human condition through representations of the figure. From exploring the need to feel beautiful and sexy in a world that judges you to exploring the dark and light side of being, confronting voyeuristic intrusion, and narratives of community, the exhibition is intended to challenge the viewer to see and not just look.

The exhibition highlights the work of artists connected to central New York in their exploration of body diversity and ecology. Some of the work will challenge viewers to confront their cultural stereotypes.
