In recognition of the SUNY Oswego community, Auxiliary Services is proud to sponsor the post-inaugural reception honoring President Nwosu on Friday afternoon, September 27, starting at 3 p.m. outside the Marano Campus Center and throughout the heart of campus by the lake.

Food

True to his warm and welcoming nature, President Nwosu invites students, faculty, staff, and alumni to join in this food-safe event featuring West African cuisine by Chef Kuukua Yomekpe, owner of Ithaca’s Asempe Kitchen, and Sam Lupo ’77, owner of Lupo’s Spiedies. Food trucks from Central New York will also be on hand, along with special guest chefs from the SUNY Oswego community:

• Rod Andrews, Assistant Vice President for Admissions and Financial Aid, will serve his famous Alabama White Sauce Chicken.
• Joey Tse, Director of the Educational Opportunities Program, will delight taste buds with his Shrimp Lo Mein.

Live Music

The festivities don’t stop with food! Musical entertainment, sponsored by Pathfinder Bank and Auxiliary Services, will feature the ATLAS BAND and Wacheva Cultural Arts, Inc., bringing traditional African dance and drumming to the celebration.

Rides and Games

The fun continues with exciting activities for everyone! Auxiliary Services, in partnership with Student Orientation and Family Engagement, Student Engagement and Leadership, Campus Recreation, and Campus Events and Conference Services, has arranged a wide variety of activities, including:

• Miniature Golf – Challenge your friends to a round of mini-golf!
• Roller Skating – Show off your moves on the rink.
• Zip Line – Soar through the air on a thrilling 174-foot-long zip line.
• Mechanical Bull – Test your balance and hold on tight for the ride of your life.
• Laser Tag & Archery Tag – Join in epic battles with your friends.
• Meltdown Inflatable – Jump, duck, and dodge in this high-energy inflatable challenge.
• Make & Takes – Get creative and make something special to take home as a memento of the day.
