The Caribbean Student Association will host its annual Lupus Walk virtually, which also will feature a performance from fellow Oswego students and special guest Oveous. The annual walk is an opportunity to raise awareness about the disease. The free concert is a collaboration between the Caribbean Student Association and ALANA (African, Latino, Asian and Native American organizations).
Founder and creator of the Hyper Soul and Hyper Ancestral sound, Oveous has been elevating audiences around the world with his captivating sets merging spoken word, lush vocals and music.
Oveous won Amateur Night at the Apollo Theatre so many times, they asked him to make way for other talent. A three-time national poetry finalist with countless television appearances, Oveous' success paved the way to music collaborations with Grammy-Award winning artists like Roy Ayers, Louie Vega and Andre DeSantanna.
Today he is affiliated with the labels BBE music, Yoruba Records and Atjazz Rec Co. His recent debut album “Hyper Soul” was critically acclaimed for his soulful singing along with his signature productions that lift the spirit.
