Warren Steinkraus Lecture on Human Ideals: Dr. Lisa Tessman, “Setting Ourselves Up for Moral Failure”

Tessman, a professor of philosophy at Binghamton University, focuses on understanding how morality is constructed and how real human beings experience morality especially under difficult conditions. Her most recent book, "When Doing the Right Thing is Impossible," is aimed at a general audience and can be read by people with no background in philosophy. Her previous works include "Moral Failure: On the Impossible Demands of Morality" (2015) and "Burdened Virtues: Virtue Ethics for Liberatory Struggles" (2005). Free; parking for those without a campus parking sticker is $1 -- see oswego.edu/parking.
