This indoor/outdoor workshop at Rice Creek Field Station will offer students the chance to unwind with a walk in nature, and then get creative by turning their experience into a poem or essay. Students of all majors and writing experience levels are encouraged to attend.

Rice Creek Field Station Naturalist Linda Knowles will lead the workshop, offering guidance and tips on poetic forms to experiment with and how to draw inspiration from past and present experiences in nature.

Students interested in participating can sign up on Rice Creek's Wellness Day registration page. The capacity for this program is 10 students.

Please dress for the weather, and bring a notebook or borrow a clipboard from Rice Creek. Participants can catch the 10:30 am Green Shuttle from Marano Campus Center to attend this program, which lasts approximately 1.5 hours. The group will gather in room 119.

The first 30 students to register for Rice Creek's Wellness Day programs will receive a free snack pack, which includes a travel mug, a hot chocolate pouch, and snacks. You can make your own hot chocolate right at Rice Creek!
