About this Event
View map Free EventWhy let Junior Naturalists have all the fun? Starting this November, on the first Saturday of the month, Rice Creek will offer a themed nature walk program open to everyone on a similar theme as that month's Junior Naturalist program.
This January, join Naturalist Linda Knowles for a guided Winter Bird Walk. This program, designed for those new to birding, will introduce participants to some of our winter residents. Participants will search for birds by sight and sound during a slow, 1-mile walk along one of Rice Creek's trails. Attendees will discuss the birds found along the way, which may include species that are only seen in Oswego in the wintertime. Binoculars will be provided.
Participants are encouraged to dress for the weather and tick protection. Sturdy, waterproof boots or shoes are highly recommended. The event will run rain or shine.
Individuals seeking accommodations to attend this event should reach out to Rice Creek staff at rcfs@oswego.edu at least one week before the program start date. Any other questions can be directed to this same email address.
